Do I need to reserve a seat for my infant?

Children up to 2 years old (24 months) are not required to have their own seat for travel on Viva Aerobus (VB). Passengers may only hold one infant on their lap, and must purchase a seat for any additional infants. Passengers may also choose to purchase a seat for an infant. Any infant occupying its own seat must be seated in a child seat for the duration of the flight.

Will I pay for my infant to travel domestically?

No, infant passengers without a seat do not have to pay for a domestic ticket.

Will I pay for my infant to travel internationally?

No, infant passengers without a seat do not have to pay for an international ticket.

What if my child turns 2 on the trip; will I have to buy a ticket for the return flight?

Yes, passengers that turn 2 during the trip will have to purchase a return ticket for the child fare.

What are the child seat requirements on Viva Aerobus (VB)?

Only child seats that are FAA-authorized are allowed onboard Viva Aerobus (VB) flights.

What infant amenities are available on the aircraft I'll be flying (i.e. bassinets)?

infant iconAll passengers travelling with an infant are allowed to check a stroller, child seat and other similar items free of charge. Passengers may also purchase a Baby Package, which will allow them to use their stroller up to the aircraft door and have it returned at the arrival gate. Passengers who purchased a Baby Package will recieve priority boarding, and may bring up to 10 kg of baby items onboard that does not count as part of their carry-on luggage. The rates for the Baby Package on international flights are as follows:

  • Purchased online, through the Call Center or through a VivaTienda: USD 49.90
  • Purchased at the airport: USD 44

Can I sit in the Exit Row with my infant?

No, passengers travelling with infants may not sit in the Exit Row.
