Norwegian Air International Infants Policy

Do I need to reserve a seat for my infant?

Yes. You’re welcome to use your own child safety restraint system (CRS) on board Norwegian flights, provided that the restraint systems are certified and marked as such.

There is no charge for the use of a child restraint system, but since the CRS must be attached to a passenger seat, a child ticket must be purchased even for children under the age of 2.

Will I pay for my infant to travel domestically?

On domestic flights, infants seated on your lap travel free of charge, provided they’re under 2 years on the date of their return flight or single flight, if travelling one way. For domestic flights within Spain, airport taxes will be applied. To avoid any uncertainty in relation to the age of the child, Norwegian Air International (D8) asks that you travel with proof of their age at all times (e.g. birth certificate or passport).

Will I pay for my infant to travel internationally?

On international flights, infants seated on your lap travel on an infant ticket, at 10% of the adult fare plus any airport taxes, provided they’re under 2 years on the date of their return flight or single flight (if travelling one way). The infant discount does not apply to Premium and PremiumFlex tickets. To avoid any uncertainty in relation to the age of the child, Norwegian Air International (D8)asks that you travel with proof of their age at all times (e.g. birth certificate or passport).

What if my child turns 2 on the trip; will I have to buy a ticket for the return flight?

Yes, a ticket will have to be purchased for any flight on which the infant will be over 2 years old. On all flights, excluding international long haul, children aged between 2 to 11 years on the date of their return flight or single flight (if travelling one way) travel on a child ticket, at 75% of the adult fare, plus any airport taxes. The discount does not apply to domestic flights within Spain or LowFare tickets in the Norwegian Air International (D8) lowest price categories (e.g. campaign prices). For international long haul, children aged between 2 to 11 years on the date of their return flight or single flight (if travelling one way) travel on a child ticket, at 90% of the adult fare, plus any airport taxes. The discount does not apply to Premium and PremiumFlex tickets or LowFare tickets in the Norwegian Air International (D8) lowest price categories (e.g. campaign prices). To avoid any uncertainty in relation to the age of the child, Norwegian Air International (D8) asks that you travel with proof of their age at all times (e.g. birth certificate or passport).

What infant amenities are available on the aircraft I'll be flying (i.e., Bassinets)?

Infant amenities vary by aircraft. When you're on the airplane page, look for the Infant Amenity Icon. If it is present, clicking on it will tell you what infant services are available on that airplane. If you do not see it, infant amenities are not offered on that aircraft. You may always contact Norwegian for more information.

May I sit in the Exit Row with my infant?

No. According to international regulations, children under 16 years will not be allowed to sit in the emergency exit row.
