Carry-On Allowance:

Each Economy and Business passenger is allowed to carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse or briefcase. First Class passengers are allowed to carry on two bags and one personal item. Assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead bin or under the seat in front of you and adhere to the following requirements:

  • Maximum Dimensions of Carry-on Luggage: 21.5 in x 15.5 in x 8 in/55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm (length x width x height)
  • Maximum Weight of Carry-on Luggage: 11 lb/5 kg

Checked Baggage Allowance (Weight Concept)

Flights to and from Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Russia and from Singapore to China are subject to the same quotas as the United States, for example 2 pieces of baggage weighing no more than 23kgs per piece in Economy Class.

  • Baggage Allowance: 20 kg FREE
  • Maximum Dimensions per bag: 78 linear inches/200 cm (length + width + height)

Business Passengers:

  • Baggage Allowance: 30 kg FREE
  • Maximum Dimensions: 78 linear inches/200 cm (length + width + height)

First Passengers:

  • Baggage Allowance: 40 kg FREE
  • Maximum Dimensions: 78 linear inches/200 cm (length + width + height)

Economy Passengers:

  • Baggage Allowance: 2 bags each not exceeding 50 lbs/23 kg
  • Maximum Dimensions per bag: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)

Premium Economy Passengers:

  • Baggage Allowance: 2 bags each not exceeding 50 lbs/23 kg
  • Maximum Dimensions per bag: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)

Business Passengers:

  • Baggage Allowance: 2 bags each not exceeding 70 lbs/32 kg
  • Maximum Dimensions per bag: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)

  • Maximum Dimensions per bag: 62 linear inches/158 cm (length + width + height)

China Southern Airlines Sky Pearl Club Allowances

  • If taking a flight that is governed by the weight concept, gold card members are entitled to an additional baggage allowance of 15 kg and silver card members are entitled to an additional baggage allowance of 10 kg.
  • Gold and silver card members of CSN Sky Pearl Club taking flights to Europe are provided with an additional piece of baggage regardless of cabin class.

Excess, Overweight, Oversize Baggage Fees

If you have more bags than the permitted allowance or your bags exceed the weight or linear restrictions, you will be charged additional fees.

Flights to the United States and Canada:

  • Additional Piece: $110
  • Overweight (23-32 kg): $110
  • Overweight (32-45 kg): $330
  • Oversize (158-203 cm): $110
  • Oversize (203+ cm): $330

Flights to Europe:

  • 2nd Bag--Economy Class: €55
  • 3rd Bag--All Classes: €200
  • Overweight (23-32 kg): €100
  • Overweight (32-45 kg): €300
  • Oversize (158+ cm): €300

Sports Equipment

Some checked items, such as surfboards, golf clubs, skis, and bicycles will be charged a fixed handling fee because of size, fragility, or other handling requirements.

CSAIR has the right to demand passengers show the Certificate of Diagnosis issued by the hospital recognized by CSAIR and signed by the doctor/physician for the passenger. If you can demonstrate your diagnostic, CPAP devices are permitted on board.
