Actually quite a good seat. Extra storage space next to the window (same at 30A and on the other side of the cabin) and the recline is fine. It's just the issue with the galley that would annoy.

Not a fan. Narrow at the shoulders - and I'm not a big person, 6'2" 220lbs - can't reach the foot rest unless you're reclined. Only controls readily available in any position are the entertainment controls. And you cannot be in the slightest recline to easily exit the seat to the aisle . . . .the open foot space to the aisle is about a foot (12"). Won't do 1A again. Wife was reasonable pleased with 1D.

Seat feels quite private; comfortable; plenty of room and storage; meal was very good; quiet area and flight; no issues with crew kitchen activity or lavatory. Almost felt like I was the only one on the plane. I would sit here again.

This is a good product IMO. The Premium economy section is small, and feels fairly exclusive although the airline doesn't appear to curtain off either business up front or economy behind. The seat itself is large, wide and with plenty of legroom. I am 5'10 and it would be ample for anyone much taller I fancy. The leather seat is very comfortable for this 8 hour flight and there is plenty of space to store odds and ends that you tend to gather around yourself to make these flights go faster. There is power at every seat but it takes some finding - down at the back of the seat and hidden away a little. There is also a USB on the large IFE screen. On that matter, there is a large screen, working well as a touch screen and very clear. There is also a ton of choice on movies but I thought the audio selection was very poor but such things don't matter too much to me. Service was pretty good. Not super friendly, but efficient and there when you want it. The response to my call button press was very fast (under a minute) and that is unusual and welcome. The 787 is a lovely plane - quiet and airy with very good lighting that changes as the light outside changes. I have had my issues with AA in the past but this is a great value option - I wouldn't spend a fortune on Business across the pond but this is a really good option I think.

The pod seats look cool. They have no shoulder room, and except for the video controller, all other seat controls are cumbersome to reach in any other position except fully upright. Furthermore, the foot rest is useless unless you recline. Lastly, getting in/out of that seat is an issue as there is about 10 inches of foot space so one must turn and face the aisle to get out. Would not recommend 1A. 3 out of 10 stars.

I flew in Premium Economy between ORD and CDG in September. I had seat 6L on the way to CDG and 7A on my return. I enjoyed seat 6L more than 7A. I liked the bulkhead seat even though we had to store our personal belongings during taxi/take-off. Neither the galley nor the lavatory were bothersome to me in seat 6L. I think the bulkhead seats 6J and 6L are preferable to 6A and 6C as the lavatory door on the right side of the plane is closer to the front of the plane than the lavatory on the left side due to the changing table in the right side lavatory (right side lavatory is much larger). Overall it was a great flight and I would book Premium Economy again on future long-haul flights.

While the plane and its crew were quite good but the business class seats are not. I am only 6 feet tall and I could not stretch out because there is not enough length in the seats. They should be an inch or two wider to make them more comfortable. The hand controller for the screen at my seat was 'frozen' in map mode so I had to use the touch screen to control what I watched.

I flew in Seat 6A, and husband in 6D from Chicago to Rome and then Rome to Chicago recently. The bulkhead seats in the Premium Economy cabin were fantastic. We didn't feel confined and I commented that I didn't feel like I was flying. I was able to get out of 6A and us the restroom without disturbing my husband in 6D. You can hear a very light noise when the toilet flushes in front, but nothing that was disturbing. We had no issues with anyone lingering by the restroom either since there was a galley right there. We were able to use the restrooms directly in front of us as well as the ones in the very back. However the galley directly in front of us was reserved for business passengers only with upgraded snacks. We had pretzels only in our galley for snacks. Service was top notch from our flight crew.

4H is an aisle seat in the middle on the right side of the plane. It's forward facing and is further away from 4D than the backward facing seats. I was traveling with someone and you had to lean forward to talk to them. Backward facing seats are better for those traveling together. American changed their menu on June 1st and everything was delicious. Roasted Chicken, Lamb, Chicken Fajita Sandwich. Would recommend 8/10.

Seats 30A and C have additional space between the 30A seat and the fuselage and under Seat 29A. The electronic window dimming feature on these 787's is very handy to keep the cabin dark while flying east in the morning daylight.

The leg room is limited, especially limited for placing a carryon bag under seat in front, due to both an electronics box under the seat in front (so only very flat bags can slide under) and because the seat row legs do not line up with each seat, but are wider, so they cut off/narrow the width of leg room directly in front

5H is a business class seat. I am 6 foot tall and I found the business class capsules small for me even with the seat all the way back. 5H is also facing the galley so you spend the flight watching the crew relax and chatting and looking at the lighting. My son was in seat 1L and he had the same comment. All that being said BC was much more enjoyable than premium select which I had on the inbound flight or MCE which I flew earlier this year.

Row 6-9 are premium economy seats on the version 2 of the 788. They are wider and more comfortable than the main cabin extra seats due to the 2-3-2 configuration vs 3-3-3. I would avoid the bulkhead row 6 if you have long legs or are tall unless you like bulkhead seats with no under seat storage. You are also close to the lav and galley. .
